Source of world’s biggest listeria outbreak still unknown | New
Health officials in the U.S. are advising pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems to steer clear of sliced deli meat due to a deadly Listeria outbreak.
Investigators are currently working to pinpoint the specific meat products responsible for the outbreak.
The CDC recommends that at-risk individuals should thoroughly cook deli meat until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit to eliminate the bacteria.
Two fatalities have been reported in connection with this outbreak, one of which occurred in New Jersey.
Additionally, at least 28 people have been hospitalized across 12 states, including Pennsylvania.
