Ravi Speaks:
From Domestic Duties to Financial Independence
The role of women in society has evolved over time. In earlier times, women were considered a burden on society, but in present times, women are an integral part of society. The journey from being a burden to being an integral part of society has been long and arduous. In this article, we will explore the journey of women from the past to the present and how they have managed to overcome the challenges and become an integral part of society.
In our community, it is now common for girls to choose to marry later in life and of their own accord, rather than being pressured into a marriage by their parents. Gone are the days when girls were forbidden from receiving an education or attending school, and when societal norms restricted them to domestic duties within the confines of their homes.
In our community, girls now choose to marry only when they feel financially secure and independent, no longer dependent on their partners after marriage. This new trend has led to an increasing number of unmarried girls even in their 30s, who choose to marry only when they feel self-sufficient and able to stand on their own two feet.
2: The Impact on Society and Gender Roles
The present times have brought about a significant change in the role of women in society. Women are now an integral part of society and have made significant contributions in various fields. They are no longer confined to household chores and are now pursuing their dreams and aspirations.
Women have made significant progress in education, and are now pursuing careers in various fields. They are participating in decision-making processes and are now holding public office. They are contributing to the economic development of the country and are no longer considered a burden on society.
This progressive change has had a significant impact on our country, and girls’ contributions are equally valued. Marriage, which used to be a significant concern for parents, has now taken a backseat. Instead, parents prioritize giving their daughters the best education and upbringing possible.
3: Benefits and Advancements in Modern Relationships
In earlier times, women were not considered equal to men. They were treated as a burden on society and their role was confined to household chores and raising children. They were not allowed to go to school and were not given the opportunity to pursue their dreams. They were considered inferior to men and were not allowed to participate in decision-making processes.
This approach has helped diminish male chauvinism in our society and has clarified the roles of both men and women in a relationship. Equality between genders has brought many benefits, such as increasing happiness among couples and reducing legal battles, leading to peace in their homes.
4: Parental Support for Independent Daughters
Parents are proud to see their daughters settled and independent, and this has alleviated their worries. Women faced many challenges in earlier times. They had to fight for their basic rights and were subjected to discrimination and violence. They were not allowed to own property, vote, or hold public office. They were considered the property of their husbands and had no say in matters concerning their lives. Parents now are happy and love to give their best for the nurturing of female children. The biggest contributory factor being the present status acquired by the girls in such a fast changing society.
Despite the progress made by women in society, they still face numerous challenges. Women are still subjected to discrimination and violence. They are still paid less than men for the same job, and are not given equal opportunities to advance in their careers. Women still face the challenge of balancing their work and family responsibilities
The journey of women from being a burden on society to becoming an integral part of society has been long and arduous. Women have faced numerous challenges, but they have overcome them and have made significant contributions to society. Women are no longer confined to household chores, and are now pursuing their dreams and aspirations. However, there is still a long way to go, and we must continue to support and empower women to ensure that they are given equal opportunities to succeed in life.
