NVIDIA Financial Results: Record $35.1 Billion Revenue Highlights AI Boom
NVIDIA has released its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2025, setting multiple records. On November 20, 2024, the company reported revenue of $35.1 billion for the quarter ending October 27, 2024. This marks a 17% increase from the previous quarter and an astounding 94% growth compared to the same period last year.
The data center segment drove the majority of this growth, with revenue reaching $30.8 billion, up 17% from the last quarter and 112% year-over-year. NVIDIA’s GAAP earnings per share stood at $0.78, showing a 16% quarterly increase and a remarkable 111% annual growth. Non-GAAP earnings per share reached $0.81, reflecting a 19% increase from the previous quarter and a 103% annual rise.
Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO, attributed the success to the surging demand for AI technologies. He described the current era as the “age of AI,” emphasizing the significant global adoption of NVIDIA’s computing solutions. In the data center sector, NVIDIA announced several milestones. These include the launch of Denmark’s largest sovereign AI supercomputer and Japan’s most powerful AI infrastructure in partnership with SoftBank. Additionally, cloud service providers like AWS and Microsoft Azure now offer instances powered by NVIDIA Hopper H200 GPUs.
The company also introduced its AI Aerial platform for telecommunications providers, collaborating with T-Mobile and Nokia to advance AI and 5G integration. Other developments include accelerated AI adoption across industries in India, Japan, and Indonesia. NVIDIA also unveiled the NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform to enhance AI supercomputing capabilities.
In gaming, NVIDIA achieved $3.3 billion in revenue, a 14% increase from the previous quarter and a 15% rise year-over-year. The company celebrated the 25th anniversary of its groundbreaking GeForce 256 GPU and demonstrated cutting-edge AI technologies at Gamescom. NVIDIA also expanded its portfolio with 20 new gaming titles optimized for its GeForce RTX and DLSS technologies.
The professional visualization segment recorded $486 million in revenue, growing 7% from the previous quarter and 17% annually. NVIDIA announced partnerships with industrial leaders in India and Japan to automate workflows using AI and digital twins powered by NVIDIA Omniverse. Foxconn has also adopted NVIDIA’s technologies to speed up the digitalization of its manufacturing processes.
Automotive revenue reached $449 million, representing a 30% quarterly growth and a 72% increase from the previous year. Key developments in this segment include Volvo’s launch of an electric SUV built on NVIDIA’s computing platform and advancements in AI-enabled robotics tools.
