Bebe Rexha Hit by Cellphone
Singer Bebe Rexha was injured during her concert in Lower Manhattan after being struck by a cellphone thrown from the crowd. The incident occurred during the last song of her set at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Sunday night. Rexha had requested the audience to put away their phones and enjoy the experience without distractions. Suddenly, a phone was hurled towards her, causing her to drop to the ground in pain. She suffered a black eye and bruises but reassured her fans via Instagram that she would be fine.
Witnesses were taken aback by the incident, with one concertgoer mistaking the phone for a CD case before realizing what had happened. Security apprehended a man near the incident, who was subsequently ejected from the venue. The suspect, identified as Nicolas Malvagna, 27, from Manalapan, New Jersey, was later arrested and charged with assault. Bebe Rexha was taken to the hospital, where she received three stitches.
