Former President Donald Trump declared that “few communities have suffered more under the Biden regime than Philadelphia” during his rally at Temple University on Saturday. Speaking to a large crowd in Pennsylvania, Trump criticized the current administration for the city’s struggles with crime and economic issues.

“Under crooked Joe, the city of brotherly love is being ravaged by bloodshed and crime,” Trump stated, referencing recent crime statistics and shootings. He promised a return to “law and order” and prosperity under his potential future administration. “We’re going to bring success back to our schools, and we’re going to liberate our once-great cities,” he assured the audience.

Trump’s rally drew a full house at the Liacouras Center, with Trump emphasizing the immediate changes he plans to implement if re-elected. “With your vote, Joe Biden’s wave of bedlam and terror will begin to recede the moment I take the oath of office,” he proclaimed.

Focus on Crime and Immigration

Trump also touched on the topic of illegal immigration, highlighting the presence of Rachel Morin’s family in the audience. Morin, a mother of five, was allegedly murdered last year by an illegal immigrant. “She wanted to stay in good shape and ended up getting killed,” Trump said, expressing his condolences to Morin’s family who he described as “incredible people.”

In a poignant moment, Trump welcomed eight family members of service members who were killed during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He called the withdrawal a “catastrophic” decision by the Biden administration. “They’re all looking down right now and they’re proud of you,” Trump said to the families, adding a personal touch to his speech.

Trump’s rally also featured Pennsylvania Senate candidate David McCormick, who received Trump’s endorsement two months ago. McCormick spoke passionately about the issues affecting Pennsylvanians, particularly the struggles faced by families living paycheck to paycheck. “We need a new president in the White House that’s going to get our country back on track,” McCormick asserted.

Rally Highlights and Future Plans

Earlier in the day, Trump addressed conservative and faith-based voters at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual Road to Majority conference in Washington, D.C. He promised that the federal government would never again be used to target Americans of faith, referring to the restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump’s promise of initiating the “largest deportation operation in American history” received the loudest applause. He emphasized his strong stance on illegal immigration and his plans to enforce strict measures on his first day back in office.

Before the Philadelphia rally, Trump made a stop at Tony and Nick’s Steaks, a local sandwich shop, where he greeted customers and employees. Demonstrating his campaign’s economic policies, he left a $500 tip and reiterated his commitment to end taxes on tips if elected.

Trump’s Philadelphia event is part of a series of rallies in deeply Democratic areas, including the Bronx, the Jersey Shore, and Detroit. Winning Pennsylvania, a key swing state, is crucial for both Trump and Biden in the upcoming election. Trump narrowly won the state in 2016 but lost to Biden in 2020.

As Trump continues his campaign, his focus remains on reversing the policies of the current administration and restoring what he views as America’s lost prosperity and safety. The rally in Philadelphia underscored his commitment to these issues and his strategy to gain support in crucial battleground states.
