Blake Lively has officially filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, along with his crisis managers Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, and Wayfarer Studios. The lawsuit, filed in a New York federal court, alleges “severe emotional distress, mental anguish, and financial losses.”
The legal action comes after an earlier complaint filed by Lively with the California Civil Rights Commission. Reports suggest the actress faced significant emotional and mental harm, which impacted her professional commitments and caused financial setbacks. The lawsuit also accuses Baldoni and his associates of launching a retaliatory campaign against her after she spoke up about workplace safety concerns and alleged harassment.
Blake Lively’s attorney issued a statement confirming the lawsuit. “Earlier today, Ms. Lively filed a federal complaint in the Southern District of New York against Wayfarer Studios and others. This legal action follows her California Civil Rights Department Complaint, where she reported harassment and workplace safety concerns. Unfortunately, her bravery in speaking out was met with retaliation and attacks.”
The attorney further stated, “The defendants have violated both federal and California state laws by retaliating against Ms. Lively. Now, they will face accountability in federal court.”
In her earlier California complaint, Blake accused Baldoni of orchestrating a smear campaign to tarnish her professional image. Baldoni’s team denied the allegations, labeling them as an attempt to restore her public reputation.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, their film It Ends With Us remains available for streaming on Netflix.
