Mitchell, aged 49, represents Woodbury, which is nearly four hours southeast of Detroit Lakes. She was booked into Becker County Jail on Monday in connection with the burglary. Mitchell claims she was retrieving her late father’s ashes, as records indicate her father lived on the block where the incident occurred. Elected in 2022, Mitchell is currently serving her first term as a senator. Prior to her political career, she worked as a TV meteorologist and an Air National Guard commander.
