The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian cricket team’s squad for the upcoming Test and One-Day International (ODI) matches against West Indies. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had an impressive season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team for the Tests. Another newcomer, pacer Mukesh Kumar, has also been selected for the Test squad. However, veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the Test series.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in both the Tests and ODIs, with Ajinkya Rahane serving as the vice-captain for the Test matches and Hardik Pandya taking up the vice-captaincy role for the ODIs. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the opener for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Maharashtra, has found a place in both the Test and ODI squads. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav has been excluded from the Test squad, while Sanju Samson has made a comeback to the ODI side.

The first Test will be held from July 12 to 16 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Dominica, followed by the second match from June 20 to June 24 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. The ODI series will commence on July 27 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, with the second ODI taking place at the same venue on July 29. The final game of the series is scheduled for August 1 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

After the Test and ODI series, India and West Indies will also compete in a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series.
