Kriti Sanon, sharing the Best Actress Award with Alia Bhatt for “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” congratulated Pankaj Tripathi for winning the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in “Mimi.” In an Instagram post, she expressed admiration for Tripathi’s achievement and mentioned his late father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, saying, “Your father would be so so proud.” Tripathi dedicated his award to his father’s memory, expressing his wish that his father could have witnessed his success.

“Mimi,” directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, drew inspiration from the 2010 Marathi film “Mala Aai Vhhaychy.” This adaptation received acclaim and recognition, including a National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2011.
