Model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend have welcomed their fourth child via a surrogate, according to an announcement made by Teigen on Instagram. Their son, Wren Alexander Stephens, was born on June 19. Teigen expressed her desire to have four children and mentioned their previous loss of their son, Jack, at 20 weeks of gestation in September 2020. After the loss, they contacted a surrogacy agency to explore the option of having two tandem surrogates, ultimately hoping for a healthy baby boy or girl. However, Teigen then decided to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) again and became pregnant with their daughter, Esti Maxine Stephens, who was born in January.
During this time, Teigen connected with Alexandra, a surrogate whose pregnancy coincided with Teigen’s. Teigen expressed gratitude towards Alexandra for the “incredible gift” and named their newborn son Wren Alexander Stephens in honor of her. Teigen’s Instagram post also acknowledged their late son, Jack, stating that both Wren and Esti carry “angel kisses” from him.
John Legend shared the news on his Instagram account as well, introducing Wren Alexander Stephens as their “new love.” The couple already has two children together, Luna, aged 7, and Miles, aged 5.
With the arrival of their fourth child, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have expressed joy and gratitude for their expanding family.
