Veteran actress Saira Banu recently shared anecdotes on Instagram about her experiences with Dev Anand. On the occasion of Dev Anand’s birth centenary, Saira Banu reminisced about their time together. In one incident, she recounted a funny mishap during the filming of Shankar Mukherjee’s Pyaar Mohabbat. While shooting on a small boat at sea, Dev Anand accidentally fell into the water, and Saira Banu’s uncontrollable laughter amused him.
Another memorable episode took place in Baalbek, Lebanon, where a crowd mistakenly identified Dev Anand as Shammi Kapoor, who was a popular actor at the time. Dev Anand playfully embraced the mix-up, delighting the crowd with his good-hearted response.
Saira Banu also revealed that during the Pyaar Mohabbat shoot, Dev Anand worked on the script for Prem Pujari, expressing his desire for Saira Banu to co-star in the film. They eventually celebrated in Rome after finishing the script.
The actress shared a harrowing incident on the sets of Pyaar Mohabbat where they crashed through glass windows during a scene due to the ship’s extreme tilt. Fortunately, they both escaped with minor injuries.
