Steven Spielberg returns to familiar territory with Disclosure Day, a thrilling and imaginative science-fiction adventure that mixes UFO conspiracies, government secrets, and human emotion. Written by David Koepp, the film delivers suspense, humor, and heartfelt storytelling in a way only Spielberg can.
The story centers on two very different people whose lives become connected by extraordinary events.
Emily Blunt shines as Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City TV weather presenter whose life takes a strange turn after a mysterious encounter. She suddenly develops unusual abilities, including speaking foreign languages she has never learned and sensing other people’s thoughts. Blunt delivers one of the strongest performances of her career, balancing comedy, confusion, and emotion with ease.
Meanwhile, Josh O’Connor plays Dr. Daniel Kellner, a cybersecurity expert who discovers shocking secrets hidden by a powerful corporation called Wardex. For decades, the company has allegedly worked with U.S. governments to conceal evidence of alien encounters and suppress information from the public.
As Daniel attempts to expose the truth, he becomes a target of Wardex leader Noah Scanlon, played convincingly by Colin Firth. Daniel’s dangerous journey is supported by former insider Hugo Wakefield, portrayed by Colman Domingo, and his girlfriend Jane, played by Eve Hewson.
