The pop sensation was born in London in 1995 to Albanian parents from Kosovo and has often expressed her deep connection to the country. She even co-founded a charity to support vulnerable communities there.
Music runs in her family—her father, Dukagjin, was a rock band singer and guitarist, inspiring her love for performing. Dua began singing at just five years old and started posting her music on YouTube as a teenager. Her self-titled debut album came out in 2017, and she quickly rose to stardom, winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2019.
