DOGE operates like a federal agency but enjoys a unique privilege: it’s shielded from the rules that typically govern such entities. Despite Musk’s claims that DOGE is “maximally transparent,” and President Trump’s assertion that around 100 people work there, the administration has refused to disclose details about its spending or operations.
