Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emotional during an event in Solapur, expressed a desire to have lived in the recently completed massive housing society project in Maharashtra during his childhood. PM Modi dedicated 90,000 houses under PMAY-Urban and 15,000 houses of Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, labeling it as the “country’s largest society built under PM Awas Yojana.” The beneficiaries of the Solapur project include handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, beedi workers, and drivers.
During the event, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for 8 AMRUT projects worth ₹2,000 crore in the state, emphasizing his government’s commitment to welfare and empowerment inspired by Lord Ram’s principles. He urged people to light “Ram Jyoti” on January 22, coinciding with the consecration ceremony at Ayodhya Ram temple. PM Modi highlighted his government’s dedication to fulfilling goals for the poor and their empowerment, referring to his guarantee as ‘guarantee puri hone ki guarantee.’
In addition, the Prime Minister distributed the first and second instalments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra. Despite earlier urging the public not to visit Ayodhya on January 22, PM Modi plans to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, which is expected to open to the public the next day.
