A new development has emerged regarding the alleged influence peddling scheme involving former Vice-President Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Senator Chuck Grassley claims that an unnamed executive from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, recorded conversations with Joe Biden and Hunter Biden. These recordings allegedly demonstrate that the Bidens received millions of dollars in exchange for policy influence.
Former acting U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker described this evidence as a “cataclysmic event” that could prove Joe Biden’s knowledge of and involvement in an abuse of power as vice president. According to Senator Grassley, there are a total of 17 recordings, with two conversations between the Burisma executive and Joe Biden, and 15 conversations between the executive and Hunter.
The recordings were reportedly kept by the foreign executive as an insurance policy in case he found himself in a difficult situation. Senator Grassley expressed his disappointment with the FBI for providing a heavily redacted version of the document to the House Oversight Committee, which they could only view in a secured facility. Grassley criticized the lack of transparency and called for the document to be made public without unnecessary redactions.
In connection with the investigation, House Republicans have issued a subpoena to Devon Archer, one of Hunter Biden’s close business associates, considering his testimony to be critical. This latest evidence raises further questions about the potential involvement of the Bidens in questionable foreign business dealings and highlights the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the president’s family.
