Google co-founder Sergey Brin has quietly finalized his divorce from Nicole Shanahan after allegations of her affair with billionaire Elon Musk. Court documents confirm the divorce took place on May 26, with the couple now sharing legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old daughter. While Shanahan did not contest the divorce, she requested spousal support. The settlement of other issues, including lawyer fees and asset division, occurred through confidential arbitration.
Brin and Shanahan began dating in 2015, the same year Brin finalized his divorce from his first wife and married Shanahan in 2018. However, they separated in 2021, leading to Brin filing for divorce in 2022 due to “irreconcilable differences.” Brin’s divorce filing came about a month after Shanahan allegedly had a brief affair with Elon Musk, a longtime friend of Brin’s, though both Musk and Shanahan denied the affair.
Sergey Brin, the 50-year-old Google co-founder, is the ninth richest person globally, with a net worth of $118 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Meanwhile, Nicole Shanahan, 34, is a California-based attorney and the founder and president of the Bia-Echo Foundation.
