Lady Gaga Gives Fiance Michael Polansky Sweet Shout-Out at Mayhem Ball
Lady Gaga had a heartfelt moment during her Mayhem Ball Tour stop in New York City on Friday, August 22, when her fiancé, Michael Polansky, gave her some powerful words of encouragement just before she hit the stage.
The 39-year-old superstar, who grew up chasing her dreams in New York, admitted she usually feels like she has to “fight” and “earn it” whenever she performs in her hometown. But before the show, her close friend China reminded her, “Sometimes you don’t have to fight, you just have to show up.”
Polansky echoed that sentiment with a touching pep talk: “When you go out there, let them fill you up.” The words moved Gaga to tears, and she shared the emotional moment with her fans before performing “Hair” from her Born This Way album — a song she hadn’t yet sung on this tour.
“This is for all of you and for all your dreams,” Gaga told the Madison Square Garden crowd. “For maybe sometimes no more fighting, just showing up.”
The concert marked a special return to the city where her music journey began. Gaga added that while every album she’s made carries a piece of New York, Born This Way in particular wouldn’t have existed without the city’s influence.
Ahead of the show, Gaga and Polansky, 41, were spotted enjoying a date night in Manhattan on August 21 at The Corner Store, a celebrity hot spot. Gaga stunned in a sleek black catsuit with an oversized blazer, while Polansky kept it casual in dark jeans and sneakers.
The couple, who first went public in 2020, have largely kept their relationship private. Gaga only confirmed their engagement earlier this year during the Paris Olympics, calling Polansky her “fiancé.”
Lady Gaga will continue her Mayhem Ball Tour with three more New York City shows at Madison Square Garden on August 23, 26, and 27, before returning again on September 6 and 7.
