“Meet the New Supergirl: Milly Alcock Soars into DC Universe”

House Of The Dragon Star Milly Alcock Lands Supergirl Role In James Gunn’s DC Universe: Republic World

Milly Alcock, known for her role in ‘House of the Dragon,’ has been cast as Supergirl in Warner Bros.’ upcoming project, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.” The character, Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, will first appear in a DC Studios project before her standalone movie. Alcock underwent screen tests for the role alongside Meg Donnelly, but it’s unclear which DC Studios project she will debut in. Ana Nogueira is penning the script for “Supergirl,” which is expected to start filming soon.

James Gunn, one of the project’s bosses, praised Alcock’s talent and her portrayal of the character, emphasizing that this Supergirl will be different from the traditional portrayal, contrasting with Superman in her upbringing and experiences. This interpretation draws inspiration from the Tom King and Bilquis Evely miniseries.

“Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is part of DC’s slate from Gunn and Peter Safran, which includes other projects like “The Brave and the Bold,” featuring Batman and a TV series starring Viola Davis as Amanda Waller from Suicide Squad. Alcock’s representation includes CAA, Entertainment 360, Curtis Brown Group, and Goodman Genow.
