Miley Cyrus confirms engagement to Maxx Morando after flaunting her ring at Avatar: Fire and Ash
Miley Cyrus has officially confirmed some heart-warming news — she’s engaged to her partner of four years, musician Maxx Morando.
The pop superstar sparked excitement earlier this week when she appeared on the red carpet at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles wearing a stunning gold and diamond ring. Fans quickly speculated it might be an engagement ring, and now Miley has happily confirmed it.
Speaking on Good Morning America, the 33-year-old Grammy winner shared that Maxx proposed during their recent trip to Asia. She admitted she had absolutely no idea it was coming.
“I’m not easy to surprise because I like to control everything,” she laughed. “But I completely surrendered… and I was so, so, so surprised.”
Miley’s romance with Maxx began after the two were set up on what she once described to British Vogue as a “blind date.” Now, four years later, she says they’ve both grown tremendously — and she loves that Maxx has always been her biggest supporter.
“You want someone by your side who tells you, ‘You can do it,’” she said, proudly showing off her engagement ring on air. “And Max did good.”
Maxx Morando, 27, is the drummer for the LA-based rock band Liily. He also performed on Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party in 2022 alongside big names like Dolly Parton and David Byrne.
This isn’t Miley’s first engagement. She previously married actor Liam Hemsworth in 2018 after a decade-long relationship. The pair divorced in 2019.
Alongside her personal milestones, Miley continues to make waves professionally. Her latest song, Dream as One, appears in the new Avatar movie. She also released her ninth studio album earlier this year but has mentioned she has “no desire” to go on tour right now, prioritizing her mental health and sobriety instead.
For now, fans are celebrating her happy news — and that dazzling ring she proudly showed off on the red carpet.
