Narendra Modi’s Leadership: Shaping India and Influencing Global Affairs

Putin, Xi and Modi Meet for Shanghai Summit, Each Focused on Own Issues

I was not an ardent fan of BJP or RSS:

I have never been an ardent fan of BJP or for that matter RSS. One of the reasons for that, most likely could be the dominance of Congress on the Indian Polity for more than seven decades and not getting to know that much for the other smaller political parties in the immediate post-Independence period. However, after the people of India gave an absolute majority to BJP in 2014 and more specifically to Mr. Narendra Modi, I started to realise certain things happening with the courageous and clear cut attitude of implementing anyways.

Since 2014, many such things happened which could have made India crumble including the worst COVID. Still it came out victorious with a clear cut results positively showing the impact on the overall health of the great nation India. The buck doesn’t stop here. The continued improved global image with attaining the world leadership position slowly and steadily because of clear cut continued efforts of the Prime Minister and his extensive foreign tours resulting in strengthening the ties with the third world, is really something which adds to his commendable accomplishments as a leader.

My inclination turned from Congress to Mr. Modi:

Let me not emphasize on the unexpected things happening right from the top in erstwhile J&K state down the line to the whole country but I must tell one thing for sure that my inclination towards the Congress in earlier times has now been exclusively turned to Mr. Modi and his team more than to BJP or RSS.

In today’s interconnected world, the leadership of world leaders, such as Mr. Narendra Modi, plays a crucial role in shaping nations and influencing global affairs. Mr. Modi’s leadership qualities have garnered attention worldwide. His visionary approach is evident through initiatives like Make in India and Digital India, which aim to transform India into a global manufacturing and digital hub. Additionally, his strong communication skills enable him to effectively engage with citizens and the global community, utilizing social media platforms to connect with millions. Furthermore, Mr. Modi’s dynamic decision-making abilities have been demonstrated during times of crisis, where he has shown the ability to make quick and effective decisions to address challenges head-on.

Under Mr. Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed significant economic reforms and growth. Initiatives such as demonetization and the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) have aimed to streamline the economy and promote transparency. Moreover, Mr. Modi’s foreign policy and diplomatic relations have strengthened India’s ties with key nations.

Modi’s role as the centre stage master in Global affairs:

Here in this article I am trying to define Modi’s role as the centre stage master specially in yesterday’s  virtual summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The fact that Indian leadership is truly dominating the global scene was quite apparent at the summit yesterday, where the meeting was called by the prime minister and attended by the leaders of China and Russia, who each voiced their respective concerns. The recent attacks in Israel and the occupied West Bank, along with yesterday’s virtual meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), have raised significant political and demographic issues that demand careful consideration. It has been noted that the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, played a crucial role in addressing these issues and their implications for world peace by calling the summit.

Putin, Xi and Modi met virtually

The virtual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where Mr. Modi played a central role, brought together the leaders of Russia, China, and India. These three nations, as major global powers, are seeking to reshape the global order that has long been dominated by the United States. While the meeting did not result in any dramatic shifts in alliances, it provided insight into how regional blocs formed to counter Western influence can navigate their competing priorities.

No mention between China and India over border:

During the summit, there was no explicit mention of the ongoing tensions between China and India over border disputes and India’s participation in the Quad, a security-focused coalition involving the United States. Instead, President Xi Jinping of China reiterated longstanding grievances against the United States, calling for an end to “hegemonism” and “power politics.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, on the other hand, urged the forum to condemn countries that “use terrorism as an instrument of their policy,” alluding to Pakistan, which India accuses of supporting militants in the disputed Kashmir region.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia called for a new “multipolar” world during the summit, aiming to project solidarity with powers that are not aligned with the West. He also sought to display strength and domestic stability following the uprising by the Wagner mercenary group.

Mr. Modi’s role and influence:

Overall, Mr. Modi’s leadership and India’s involvement in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit underscore the country’s growing political influence on the world stage. Through his visionary approach, economic reforms, and diplomatic efforts, Mr. Modi has positioned India as an important player in global affairs, contributing to discussions on regional security and cooperation among major powers.
