“NBA Trade Buzz: Celtics Eye Kristaps Porzingis, Clippers Pursue Malcolm Brogdon in Blockbuster Three-Team Deal!”

Celtics Eye Kristaps Porzingis

According to sources, the Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, and Washington Wizards are engaged in a three-team trade negotiation. The trade would involve the Celtics acquiring Kristaps Porzingis from the Wizards, the Clippers acquiring Malcolm Brogdon from the Celtics, and the Wizards receiving Marcus Morris, Amir Coffey, and the 30th pick in this year’s draft from the Clippers, as well as Danilo Gallinari from the Celtics.

Kristaps Porzingis, who had a standout season with the Wizards, would opt into his $36 million contract for the 2023-24 season and move from Washington to Boston. Porzingis, the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, joined the Wizards in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks last year. The Celtics, aiming for their 18th NBA championship, are looking to bolster their roster with Porzingis while also considering a contract extension for Jaylen Brown.

Malcolm Brogdon, the Sixth Man of the Year for the Celtics last season, would join the Clippers in exchange for the final pick of the first round in this year’s draft, Marcus Morris, and Amir Coffey. The Wizards, under new basketball operations leadership, continue to make roster changes after the recent trade involving Bradley Beal.

In addition to these developments, Washington forward Kyle Kuzma has declined his player option, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The trade is still pending finalization as there are unresolved matters to address before it can be completed.
