Nikki Glaser Isn’t Touching ‘It Ends With Us’ Drama At Golden Globes
Nikki Glaser, set to host the 82nd Golden Globes on Sunday, January 7, 2025, has made it clear she’s steering away from Hollywood controversies, including the heated Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni feud surrounding It Ends With Us.
In an interview ahead of the event, Glaser emphasized her intention to avoid divisive topics during her hosting gig, which will air live at 8 PM ET on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Known for her sharp humor, the comedian reassured fans that her jokes wouldn’t cross boundaries or risk offending anyone.
“This is my first Golden Globes, not my last,” Glaser said. “I’m not here to burn bridges or make headlines for the wrong reasons.”
The controversy stems from Blake Lively’s recent lawsuit against co-star and director Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and professional retaliation. The lawsuit has sparked widespread media attention, but Glaser remains firm in her decision to avoid the topic altogether.
“I don’t even want to say his name,” Glaser stated candidly. “It’s such a sensitive issue, and I don’t think it’s my place to comment on it.”
Additionally, Glaser plans to keep political jokes light. Despite the tense political climate following Donald Trump’s re-election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, she feels audiences are fatigued by heavy-handed political commentary.
“There might be a nod here and there, but nothing too intense,” Glaser explained. “People want to escape for the night and just have fun.”
This hosting gig marks a milestone for Glaser, who rose to prominence after her Netflix special Someday You’ll Die and her standout performance in The Roast of Tom Brady. With both humor and sensitivity in mind, Glaser seems poised to deliver a Golden Globes night that’s both entertaining and uncontroversial.
