“Olivia Rodrigo’s Surprise School Run Adventure with Jimmy Kimmel’s Kids”

Olivia Rodrigo Surprises Jimmy Kimmel’s Kids On The Way To School

The celebrity-spotting game is a breeze. Spot a celebrity, score a point. The bigger the star, the more points you bag.

Jimmy Kimmel’s kids unknowingly won the celebrity-spotting game one morning during a school drop-off when they spotted Olivia Rodrigo by the roadside, and the “Good 4 U” sensation hopped into their car.

Naturally, this moment was captured on camera for Kimmel’s late-night show, which aired on Tuesday night, October 24.

Posing as a hitchhiker with her thumb out, Rodrigo gave the kids the surprise of their young lives by accepting a ride.

“You know, Olivia, we listen to your music on the way to school all the time,” Kimmel tells his passengers, with two of them in the back seat utterly star-struck: nine-year-old Jane and six-year-old son Billy.

After covering some miles and engaging in some back-and-forth conversation, Rodrigo’s tunes provided the soundtrack for a round of Kimmel family karaoke. The reason for her hitchhiking adventure? Well, you probably guessed it. Rodrigo doesn’t actually have a driver’s license.

Kimmel kept the motor running as Rodrigo made her way to his show for a proper Q&A.

The triple Grammy Award winner, three-time Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, and two-time Billboard 200 champion dropped by to discuss her house-hunting adventures, her fear of ghosts, and the intriguing contents of her “President Biden goodies” bag.

Navigating fame can be tricky, even for Rodrigo’s parents. Her dad “brags to his co-workers” about Olivia’s success, her mom is “modest and shy,” and she’s “very coy” when asked about her daughter.

Rodrigo, like many of us, is well-versed in the art of profanity. When it comes to writing songs and deciding whether to include four-letter words, “I think about it often,” she explains. “I love using a swear word when I think it’s tasteful and necessary.” While crafting some tracks, she found herself “swearing all over them” and had to “tone it down.”

None of those four-letter words make an appearance in “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,” a song Rodrigo performed for Kimmel’s audience.
