“Ardent Fan Of Amitabh Bachchan From Indian Film Industry”.

Right from my childhood, I have been an ardent fan of Amitabh. I remember when I was still in school I along with my school friends had gone to Parade Ground Jammu one evening and we were very excited to see the movie which was to be shown on a bigger screen on the ground by the Civil Defence People who had their HO just near the Parade Ground itself. There was a huge gathering at the ground and those days the TV too was not amply available with all the people in Jammu. The movie started at around 7.00 PM and it went on till 9.30 PM there at the Parade Ground and we saw the whole movie there amidst the huge crowd almost standing in front of the big screen fixed at the ground. The name of the movie was “Saat-Hindustani”-which we saw in black and white and for the first time I saw Amitabh in this movie. That time I was not at all impressed by his acting since there were many more characters in the movie and it was that way a multi-starrer. One thing which I remembered at that time was the thin long hero whose voice was different and heavier than the others. Anyway, we saw the movie and liked it too since it had some sort of patriotic touch in it with the various challenges met by the various characters from the beginning till the end.

 LIVELY AMITABH

Thus, Amitabh at that time around the beginning of the seventies was not at all popular and he had just started showing his “Angry Young Man”-image in the subsequent movies in which he came as the main character. It was only in “Zanjeer” where he got good acclaim and his angry young man image got established with this movie. I liked the movie mainly because of his acting and very effective dialogue delivery. After that, I must have hardly left any movie of Amitabh-which ever came to the theatre.

AMITABH & HIS WIFE.

Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan, best known as Amitabh Bachchan, was born in Allahabad, India on October 11, 1942. India was still a British colony at the time, and would not achieve independence until five years later. Bachchan’s father was the renowned Hindi poet Dr.Harivansh Rai. His mother-Teji Bachchan was a Sikh socialite. He has one younger brother, named Ajitabh. Bachchan went to Sherwood College boarding school before enrolling in Delhi University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. Once he graduated, he became a freight broker in Calcutta. After a few years in Calcutta, Bachchan was ready for a change. He decided to move to Bombay and take a stab at Bollywood show business. By this time, India had been independent for nearly two decades, and the Hindi cinema was thriving.

 LITTLE AMITABH

By the early 1970s, Bachchan had garnered popularity with audiences as the “angry young man” in a series of successful Hindi feature films. His starring role in Zanjeer was particularly instrumental in launching him to stardom as an action-movie hero. Bachchan’s performances in films like Laawaris, Coolie, Naseeb, Silsila, Sharabi, and Jaadugar continued to enamor fans of the tall and handsome action hero, and also landed him multiple Fanfare Awards. From the 1970s through the early 1980s, the swashbuckling Bachchan appeared in more than 100 films. He seized opportunities to work with India’s most acclaimed directors, such as Prakash-Mehra, and dominated the silver screen with films like Trishul, Sholay, and Chashme Buddoor.

AMITABH THE INTELLECT

In addition to acting, Bachchan’s roles often required him to sing. In 1982, Bachchan had a serious accident while filming-“Coolie”. He was in a very critical condition with advanced septicemia condition. He fought back and survived that dangerous abdominal injury. Fans prayed for his recovery. Bachchan survived the accident, but it prompted him to change career paths. In 1984, he traded his Bollywood stardom for a seat in the Indian Parliament. His political aspirations proved to be short-lived; in 1987, he left his seat due to unexpected controversy.

WITH PARENTS.

After he could not get settled in his political career he decided to return back and again made movies as well as acted in quite a few more movies but in the second phase of his acting career, he could not again capture that great image of young angry man anymore which he had created during the late seventies and even the eighties. He started appearing in TV programs like “Kaun Banega Crorepati” which was the remake of the most popular show” Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. And his first episode started from 2000 onwards. It became such a big hit that people during the prime time used to especially schedule their Time Table so that they saw this program every day in the evening. The ratings of this program touched the records and it is this popularity which even after two decades has forced the producers to produce the same program even now.

                                   PLATINUM JUBILEE-HIT “DEEWAR”.

I remember having seen his two movies many times. One of them was “Sholay” and the other one was “Deewar”.Two more of his movies have been my very favorite ones-they are “Lawaaris” and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”. The real Amitabh print has been put on these movies and these movies because of his tremendous acting and unique-dancing-have become a real asset in Indian Bollywood history. There are movies like “Don” and “Silsila” -which have made very good Box Office records and it is the accumulation of such classics that he has been declared the “Millennium Hero”.

ORIGINAL”MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR”

So many of his hit movies were made again with the same names by the various producers so that they could encash on his popularity as well as on his performances in that movies-however, all those movies could not make any mark in the minds of the cine-goers and had to face the failure. Some remakes are-“Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”,” Zanjeer”,” Lawaaris”,” Sholay” etc. However, some remakes like “Don” could get some good acclaim at the box office.

REMAKE OF LAWAARIS.

The popularity of this great hero is so much there that he has to come out on Sundays for some time outside his house “Jalsa” to just give a darshan type to his die-hard fans and followers. The gathering always on Sundays is in thousands and the road during that morning timings is either closed for the traffic or traffic is deflected to other routes during that time.

ORIGINAL ZANJEER-SETTING THE PACE.

I would always cherish his superb acting in “Deewar”,” Sharabi”,” Bemisaal”,” Bhagbaan” and of course “Muqadar Ka Sikandar”. He has done remarkable work in these movies and made them great ones to be remembered for the times to come.

His actual personality is very influencing and at the same time full of humility. Whenever he is asked to deliver a lecture or a short speech-he has his unique style of delivering the same. One is awestruck while he talks or delivers his brief speech. One would love to listen to him continuously and cherish his thoughts and mainly his very heavy voice-which is God’s gift to him.

WHILE DELIVERING SPEECH.

Even at this age of 78 years he is very active and is still involved with many projects. He otherwise is not that healthy but yes, he maintains himself very well by keeping himself always busy. Every time in the morning he has to take two or three puffs of steroidal-medicine for his asthma problem and still he is going strong day by day as we see him performing in films or even on TV -where he is the anchor for the popular show-“KBC”.

AMITABH PAINTING

I admire him very much and wish him a long healthy life. He has been a real provider of entertainment as well as an example of a great accomplisher-whom there are thousands- emulating him and yearning to be following his path of success.
