Reality Shows Help Talent To Become Famous Overnight.
See the drastic change in the career-building of a small young person nowadays? If you have some talent and you get to show that by getting the stage at the known talent search programmes of the various TV shows-you are a star in no time. People with various such talents have attained international popularity in no time. Look at the people who have this mesmerising talent of singing like Arijit Singh, Mrs Shreya Ghoshal, Shekhar, Neha Kakkar, Sonu Nigam, and so many more. All these people got the platform at a very young age and got the chance to show their talent to the world. The beauty is that they got picked up by the leading producers and Directors of the Movie world and then they reached the pinnacle of their careers at a very young age. They had no godfathers in the industry, but as they say, dedication will overpower luck. In India, many people are very talented, but they don’t have the platform to showcase it and few of them get it and make the best use of it.
Recently, a similar Talent Search Show with the name “Indian Idol” was being shown regularly for 75 episodes continuously and it became a very popular one in the country. The music lovers would wait for this programme for the whole week and enjoy every bit thoroughly. This programme had gone on the TRP charts as the top programme from Sony TV. It celebrated its final concluding episode -which lasted for the highest number of hours -12 hours continuously. The beauty of this programme was the superb stuff of the singers who had made it to the finals by the real hard work and their talent. The six people who were there in the finals were all very great singers. But the two of the lot who were mesmerising the audience every time they came for the singing on the stage were Pavandeep and Arunita. In fact, they had become so popular during these 75 episodes that on YouTube also their recorded songs of the reality show were being viewed with millions and millions of viewership-which itself spoke a lot about their enormous talent.
One thing which I observed in these programmes was the actual search by the selectors from the interiors and micro interiors of the country. That was worth an applaud since people with their background were even from very low-profile families and one or two such singers also were given this platform who had no money for their daily needs even. This time, there was one guy from Rajasthan who was collecting money from the people seeing his show of puppets on the roadside and he got this as an opportunity to prove his capabilities as a singer and became popular overnight.
Gone are the days when the students had to wait for their completion of certain courses to get the eligibility for appearing in certain cut-out professions. Now the time has come where the inclination of a child should be minutely observed by his parents and the parents should encourage that child to get all possible help in the field in which it is showing the interest and inclination to excel. In our times, if at all somebody would pick up the bat in his hand-he would strongly be rebuked by his parents saying that he was wasting the time and it would be in his interest if he devoted that time to his studies only.
Parents who have been breaking this age-old restriction and trying to be all help to their children right from their early childhood-they would be the happier ones since with time only such children who excel in their line of taste and interest-would reach the pinnacle of fame. All the talented ones still do not get the real opportunities to prove their skill and talents-but then they will have to strive harder even after attaining perfection in their line of interest.
Now I realise that those who still, go with the conservative time-tested old way of the upbringing of his child-he should not at all keep very high expectations also since an academician would at the most go into higher studies and finally settle down as a teacher or a scientist-which is good no doubt but it may or may not be as per his choice of things-which he would have attained if given a free hand by his liberal parents.
Coming back to this programme- “Indian Idol”-the winner got a good amount of money and material along with a lot of popularity. In addition, he got so many contracts for his singing that at least his own life was made. He has now to merge his positioning to come on to the top-notch positioning in the popularity charts-which he would surely come up within time. At least look at his young age of early twenties-how strongly he encashed on the opportunity and the platform offered to him. Even the other participants also got the fame and above all so many contracts there and then-which speaks of the enormous chances for their faster growth in their field of choice.
Here are a few of such talented people whom I could remember and many such talents are there whom many more people have liked and recognised-which I may not be able to include all here in brief: –
Pavandeep Rajan:- Pavandeep Rajan is an Indian singer who is known for winning the trophy of the popular Indian singing reality shows Indian Idol 12. He is a specialist in playing different instruments like ‘Drums’, ‘Guitar’, ‘Piano’ and ‘Tabla’. Pavandeep is a ‘Youth Brand Ambassador’ of Uttarakhand.
Arunita Kanjilal:- She was the first runner-up of the Indian Idol-12. A very popular singer and having a good music sense. She has appeared on several reality shows and was the winner of Zee Bangla’s TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs in 2013. With her participation in Indian Idol-12, she attained very good fame and also got noticed by the leading producers and Directors giving her a lot of contracts to sing. Another singer who is surely going to sparkle in the future.
Shreya Ghoshal:-She was only 16 when she won the show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa”. Not only did she just win it, but she got noticed by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and recorded her first song “at 16. She even won a National Film Award for her first song, “Bairi Piya.” From then till now she is the winner of 4 National Film Awards and 6 Filmfare Awards.
Monali Thakur:- Singing is in her blood. Her father Shakti Thakur is a very famous Bengali Singer. She had taken part in the second season of Indian Idol. Music director Pritam gave her first break with the song “Khwab Dekhe and “Zara Zara Touch Me Touch Me.” In no time, the songs became chartbusters. She won the Filmfare award for her song ‘Sawaar Loon’ (‘Lootera’).
Arijit Singh’s career began when he took part in Fame Gurukul in the year 2005. Though he did not win the show, he didn’t give up. “Tum Hi Ho” from “Aashiqui 2” was the turning point in his career. He even won a Filmfare award for this song, and from there on there is no looking back. With songs like “Mast Magan,” “Dilli Wali Girlfriend,” “Kabira” and “Suno Na Sangemarmar” his career is just going up.
Sunidhi Chouhan:– She was a teenager when she won the reality show Meri Awaz Suno. She shot to fame with the song Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi. She is a very versatile singer from seductive songs to romantic numbers Sunidhi’s songs are mind-blowing.
Looking to such open avenues and chances being offered as the best opportunities-children of the present generation have just to channelise their talent and energies in such a way that they can equally excel in their field of speciality. Children don’t need to go only for the acting or singing. They would jolly well train themselves as per their interest and choice into the sports like athletics, Wrestling, Boxing, Hockey or even for that matter indoor games like Badminton and so on. The fields open to them are enormous but they will have to change their mindset according to the changing opportunities and most importantly their parents have to motivate them and infuse more excelling power into them by giving all the possible help mentally as well materially. Parents must give their best to ensure that their child goes to the best of the coaching for such lines where the child inclines and give them the ready-made atmosphere for their competitive tinge to enhance enormously.
