Ravi Speaks: Should the US intervene to put a stop to the hostilities between Russia and Ukraine?

The trio in picture -can stop the conflict.

Ravi Speaks:

Almost one year has passed and the war between the two prosperous countries-Russia and Ukraine, has made the whole world very poor and on the back foot. People may say many things like west getting a dent or the rest of the Asian countries also suffering a lot as far as their economic health is concerned but nobody from the super power like USA or some of the powerful western countries have really taken any initiative in closing it fully. On the other hand Ukraine also has been fully given the tackling ammunition from the back door by all the powerful western countries.

A journalist still says the following lines which is quite astonishing:

“For Putin, the risk of losses on the battlefield, economic harm to Russia, and temporary disruption to global markets are well worth the reward of being the leader of a more powerful Russia.”

Does it mean in any way a positive uttering? He probably wants to evaluate the present situation which has gone into the bigger recession with the very high rise in the prices of the basic commodities with that of the powerful leader of Russia. Quite insane of him.

In fact the earnest action should have been the various ways by which this war could be finished at the earliest possible time. I feel USA being a very powerful nation should have initiated at a dramatic pace the actions which would result in the culmination of this conflict.

Imagine the pre war scenario-where Post-Soviet Russia and Ukraine were working hard to quickly establish themselves as two distinct political countries. After we saw the war scenes which were quite heart rending-we could realize the development of Ukraine and its importance in the world map-where major supplies to the western countries were being done by them. In contrast to Russia, which sees Ukraine as a grave danger to its great Soviet and Tsarist imperial heritage, the Ukrainians portray themselves as rebels against Moscow’s previous colonial control.

Now look at Putin-who seems to be still acting like a sociopath even after so much of his men have lost their lives and he also facing a very crucial criticism for his acts. It is all due to the tough fight back given by the Zelenskyy people from their end. He wants to embarrass DC and splinter NATO. He is only observing the weather in Ukraine and has a powerful military. This sort of an act only Putin can think of. Look at his army troops lost in this misguided war on Ukraine-60,000 to 80,000.

With such an obstinate attitude of Russians look how Zelenskyy has been becoming more popular and true leader with full support coming from the US and NATO countries.

The US should intervene and take some steps:

By taking a few very easy and sensible steps, the US may very quickly prevent a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine.

With immediate effect, halt all expansionist efforts by NATO.

Remove all missiles and heavy weapons from Russia’s borders.

Stop all military exercises and provocative war games near Russia’s borders.

Encourage the Ukrainian government to carry out its contractual duties under the Minsk II agreements as quickly as possible, particularly the clause mandating the devolution of authority in the Donbas, which speaks Russian.

Encourage the Ukrainian government to formally rule out using military force to resolve the Donbass conflict.

Lift the sanctions immediately on Russia, Reduce Western military funding and weaponry sales to the Ukrainian military (which, btw, includes battalions with overt neo-Nazi ideology like the Azov-Battalion.

All of these actions by the US negate the need for any further invasion by Russia.

If the US does none of these (quite sensible) things, I’m worried that it may inadvertently incite Russia to continue the onslaught.
