Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have decided to take a break from their year-long relationship. A source close to the couple revealed this on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The two stars, both deeply focused on their careers, mutually agreed to pause their romantic involvement for now. Carpenter is 25, while Keoghan is 32.
The pair first sparked dating rumors in early December 2023 when they were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles. Their connection began even earlier, during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023, when they both attended a Givenchy show.
Over the past year, the couple has often shown support for each other. Keoghan, known for his role in Saltburn, frequently left sweet comments on Carpenter’s Instagram. He was also in the crowd during her Coachella performance in April 2024 and played a leading role in her music video for “Please Please Please,” released in June.
Speaking about his involvement in the video, Carpenter shared in an October interview that she cast Keoghan while he was sitting right next to her. She called him the “greatest actor” for the role, and Keoghan expressed equal admiration for her, praising her work ethic and vision.
In November, following the announcement of Carpenter’s six Grammy nominations, including Song of the Year for “Please Please Please,” Keoghan publicly celebrated her achievements. During an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show, he described her as “brilliant” and admitted he was in awe of her dedication.
Despite their mutual admiration and support, the couple’s busy schedules and career ambitions have led them to part ways for now. Representatives for Carpenter and Keoghan have not commented on the breakup.
