Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised Aryan Khan for his directorial debut The Bads of Bollywood, which has crossed 9 million views on Netflix. Calling it a masterpiece, Tharoor said Shah Rukh Khan must be proud of his son’s achievement.

Recovering from a cold, Tharoor shared his review on X (formerly Twitter), describing the series as “absolute OTT gold.” He said he was persuaded by his sister Smita Tharoor and staff to watch the show, and it turned out to be one of the best things he had seen recently.

In his post, Tharoor wrote, “Just finished watching Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, and I’m left grasping for words of praise. It takes time to grow on you, but soon you’re hooked. The writing is sharp, the direction fearless, and the satire bold. It’s a mix of humor, emotion, and honesty that Bollywood has been waiting for.”

He called Aryan’s work a fearless commentary on the film industry. “It looks beyond glamour, mocks clichés with wit, and lets the audience peek behind the scenes,” he added.

Tharoor also tagged Shah Rukh Khan in his post, writing, “From one father to another, you must be so proud! Aryan Khan, take a bow—you’ve delivered a masterpiece.”
