The global phenomenon Squid Game is back — and it’s already breaking records. The third and final season of the hit Korean series premiered last Friday on Netflix, and in just three days, it pulled in a jaw-dropping 60.1 million views.
This incredible number makes Squid Game Season 3 Netflix’s ninth most-watched non-English show of all time, based on the platform’s weekly Top 10 rankings.
How Season 3 Compares to Previous Seasons
While this is a huge win, it’s interesting to note that Season 2 had an even bigger debut — 68 million views in its first four days back in December 2024. That season launched on a Thursday, giving it one extra day of viewership in Netflix’s Monday–Sunday tracking week. Still, both seasons are among Netflix’s top performers, with Season 2 currently ranked #7 on the all-time list for non-English shows.
What’s Happening in Season 3?
In this final chapter, we follow Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, as he dives deeper into the deadly games. But this time, he’s not just trying to survive — he’s trying to take down the system and prove that humanity still has value. The story pits him against the mysterious and powerful Front Man, portrayed by Lee Byung-hun, in a tense showdown.
What Makes This So Big?
Squid Game continues to resonate globally with its gripping storyline, powerful performances, and thought-provoking social themes. The third season’s massive early numbers prove that the show still holds a powerful grip on audiences worldwide.
