Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, recently had a major heart procedure — a quintuple bypass surgery — but he’s on the mend and doing well, according to sources close to the family.
The 73-year-old underwent the surgery last month after doctors spotted an issue during a routine check-up. Importantly, it wasn’t caused by a heart attack, as some might assume. The surgery was more of a preventive move after doctors found significant artery blockages.
Taylor and her family — including her mom, Andrea, and brother, Austin — were by Scott’s side the entire time, offering support through both the operation and recovery. The Swift family has always been tight-knit, and this health scare brought them even closer. Taylor’s parents, Scott and Andrea, have been married for 37 years.
A quintuple bypass is a serious operation where doctors create new pathways for blood to flow around five blocked heart arteries. While it sounds intense — and it is — the good news is that Scott is recovering well.
The story was first reported by TMZ, and Taylor’s team has since confirmed that the details in the report are accurate.
We’re wishing Scott a full and speedy recovery!
