It appears that everyone has an opinion about the rumored romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. And joining the discussion is none other than Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.
During the latest episode of “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast, the two-time Pro Bowler shared his perspective on why the Chiefs, led by the two-time Super Bowl champion Kelce, are dominating the AFC West and currently boasting the best record in the NFL. Parsons believes that Taylor Swift plays a crucial role in Kelce’s exceptional performance.
“Travis Kelce is my guy, undoubtedly the best tight end in the league for the past three to four years. So, it’s not merely about Taylor Swift,” Parsons stated while discussing the “Taylor Effect.” Notably, the Chiefs have won all four games that Swift has attended, following their season opener loss when Kelce was absent. “But here’s the thing: when a charismatic woman like Taylor Swift is in the stands, cheering for you, it provides an extra dose of confidence.”
Parsons further elaborated, “You know what Kelce is capable of. I know what’s going on. He was already outstanding, but now it’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to give it my all.’ It’s all about swagger and a newfound self-assuredness when such situations unfold. You all understand how it works.”
Even the usually reserved Chiefs’ head coach, Andy Reid, humorously acknowledged that the 11-season veteran Kelce, at 34, keeps improving with time. He added that Swift is more than welcome to continue attending games and performing her secret pump-up handshakes. According to SI, Reid remarked after a recent game, “Kelce keeps getting better with time. Taylor can stay around as much as she’d like.”
Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs game on September 24, joining friends and family in a private box alongside Travis’s mother, Donna Kelce. Kelce’s performance was exceptional, with 12 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns. In a surprising turn of events, Swift and Kelce seemingly confirmed their long-rumored romance by holding hands on their way to the SNL afterparty on October 14. This was shortly after both of them made surprise appearances on the show’s season 49 premiere. The following day, they were spotted dining at a restaurant in the West Village, hand-in-hand once again. However, it’s important to note that neither Swift nor Kelce has officially confirmed their reported romance.
