Taylor Swift is bringing fans a brand-new cinematic experience with “Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.” The film will run in theaters October 3–5 with a special ticket price of $12 (before online booking fees).
Tickets go on sale today at the very Swift-like time of 12:12 p.m. ET. Fans in the U.S. can grab tickets at amctheatres.com, while international fans can find them at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.
What Makes This Event Different?
Unlike traditional movie screenings, AMC is encouraging fans to sing and dance during the show. The only rules: no standing on seats or blocking aisles to keep things safe. Another difference? No trailers or ads will play beforehand, so arriving late is not a good idea.
Going Global
The event isn’t just for U.S. audiences. The film will premiere the same weekend in Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Tickets in these countries go on sale Tuesday.
Other regions will get the release later in October, with dates to be announced around October 3.
What Fans Can Expect
Swift shared on social media that the program will feature “cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music.” She added that dancing is “optional but very much encouraged.” With legendary producers Max Martin and Shellback back at her side, fans can expect tracks designed to get people moving.
Setting the Record Straight
For weeks, fans speculated about a secret Swift film, with many guessing it would be an Eras Tour documentary. But Swift is looking forward, not back—this project is all about her 12th album, Life of a Showgirl, which fittingly includes 12 tracks.
Why Theaters Are Excited
Swift’s last concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023), made box office history, earning $181 million domestically and $262 million worldwide. While Showgirl won’t run as long and isn’t expected to reach those same numbers, theaters are thrilled. It offers a big fall boost as it opens alongside Dwayne Johnson’s The Smashing Machine and a re-release of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.
