Team India remains stuck in Barbados amid Hurricane threat
Team India, the T20 World Cup winners, are stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. Prime Minister Mia Mottley expects the airport to reopen in 6 to 12 hours, allowing them to fly home. Barbados, with a population of nearly 300,000, has been in lockdown since Sunday due to life-threatening winds and storms. Although the hurricane caused significant coastal damage, it did not make landfall. Recovery and cleanup efforts are underway. Another hurricane is expected on Wednesday. Despite the lockdown, the team remains in good spirits after their recent victory over South Africa.
