Gemini 3 arrives almost two years after Google introduced the first version. The original model came after OpenAI released ChatGPT in late 2022. That launch changed the tech market and pushed companies to build faster and smarter products.
Pichai’s post drew quick responses from major names in the AI space. Elon Musk from xAI replied with a simple “Congrats”. Sam Altman from OpenAI wrote, “Congrats to Google on Gemini 3!” He added that the new product “looks like a great model”.
Google shared some details about how Gemini 3 works. The company said the new AI feature in Search can help users think through ideas more clearly. Koray Kavukcuoglu, who oversees Gemini technology, said it will help people turn ideas into real work. Company leaders said they built controls to stop errors and prevent misuse such as hacking.
They described Gemini 3’s responses as smart, short, and direct. They said the model will speak in a way that gives clear answers and avoids empty praise.
The new features will first reach Gemini Pro and Ultra users in the United States. Google plans to expand the rollout to more countries over time.
