WI vs ENG, 2nd Test, Day 3 Live Updates: West Indies will eye a solid start when openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Sharmarh Brooks resume play against England on Day 3 of the ongoing second Test at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. At stumps, pacer Matthew Fisher got off to a dream debut as he dismissed John Campbell after Tea on Day 2. Earlier, Joe Root and Ben Stokes struck centuries as England declared their first innings at 507 for nine.

Jermaine Blackwood is up for a quick chat. He says that he is happy with his performance today and after a slow start, it got easier for batting. Adds that he and Brathwaite just looked to stay out there for as long as possible and he is pleased with his effort. On being asked about his dismissal, he says that he completely misjudged that one as he thought the ball was bouncing much more than it did. About that fiery encounter with Stokes, he says that he likes playing against Stokes and has been doing so since the under-19 days and loves a bit of banter as well.

West Indies will be slightly disappointed as they lost Blackwood late in the evening and they know they are way behind in this match. The good news is they have their skipper, Kraigg Brathwaite out. Just like England, West Indies captain and vice-captain both scored centuries and would have loved the partnership to continue but the slight lapse of concentration saw the stand of 183 collapses. West Indies are still 219 runs behind in this match and it will take some effort from them to get a positive result out of this match with just two days remaining. The same goes for England as well who need a flurry of wickets at the start of Day 4 for any chance of winning from here.

England started the session on a high and they end on the front foot as well. A tiring day for the tourists but they will be happy to get the big wicket of Blackwood just near the end of the day. The lines and lengths were good from England today, Leach and Saqib Mahmood precisely as the latter got the wicket of Blackwood but that turned out to be a no-ball while Foakes had a stumping chance off Leach but he too fumbled in his job and that helped Brathwaite survive. England would have loved the wicket of Brathwaite as well but the tiredness showed up as the day progressed.
