Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs to Perform ‘Fast Car’ at Grammys
Tracy Chapman made a rare appearance at the Grammy Awards, performing her hit “Fast Car” alongside country star Luke Combs. This marked only her fourth public performance since her last tour in 2009. Combs’ rendition of “Fast Car” propelled Chapman back into the spotlight, making her the first Black woman to have sole songwriting credit on a No. 1 country hit. Despite not being nominated for a Grammy this year, the song’s association with the awards remains strong, as Chapman won a Grammy in 1989 for her original version.
